Close to the nature

This week , I still research some family house design,such as plans,I suppose I can get some new ideas from designer.I find some common things about some plans,especially the house build in the lush greenery of the forest or hill.The designer  most focus on the environment, try them best to design the plan close to the nature,I think close to the nature is a human nature.Project 2 has the similar site ,why not use the prefect nature environment?So I analysis some plan in the nature environment.

 This build has the similar site with project 2 in the hill wiht many plants. The designer use the passageway to link each building,not only use the site ,but also give the client a chance to close to  the nature. This passageway not just a link simple,it also a good place to take a break for the client.Client not need go to outside to enjoy nature,just sit down in the passageway.

From this project,I can clear see that balcony already in the forest.

This project use the roof of the downstairs as the up stair's balcony, make the space interesting and get more outside space at the same time.

So I try to manage the function different in this way to let people close to the nature,I trying some bubbles.The aim of close to the nature.

I use the ground floor as the terrace.

Use the same way with above plan,but I separate the space of balcony .The outside space divide into two parts ,in order to let different people enjoy nature.

Finally, I developed no.1 plan,it will be in the next writing.

Reflection
Last week,I thought I get the important concept about design,not only for this project,but also for the design.No matter which kinds of architecture design ,we should focus on the function at first.It easy to say ,but when we do it according this new concept which must be a little different.Actually it is familiarized for us,but we did not think about this in deep. For example about project 2,I did function analysis as well,but I am not very clear about the purpose of this analysis.When I finish the function analysis,I think about the elevation .I did not realize the relationship between the function and elevation,even try to thought about how to make the architecture  interesting.I divide the link between function and elevation.After last week,I realized this was wrong way of the design,fortunately ,I get the right relationship between function and   elevation.That's why Joe emphasized the function many times.Every elevation of  architecture build on the perfect function.When we finish the function,the elevation will be appear.Do not seek the architecture interesting simply,even just a box which function has the reasonable,it still has a interesting elevation.

Function analysis:

 The family house can divided main parts:private area(Master bedroom including bathroom ,children bedroom,) and public area (Living dining area,kitchen).The private area should in quiet area,and the  use time normally in 11:00 pm to 8:00 am(nigh time).The public area needs enough lights,the use time normally in 8:00 am to 11:00 pm(daytime).

 

The function of adult should important than children and guest.

Those flow paths about initial plan in family house.I will develop those flow paths about plans.I prefer put public area in the ground floor and private in the first floor.

Project 2- initial analysis (weather:rain,wind,temperature )

Today,I collect some information about Winchester's weather.

From the chart of wind direction,SW and SSW wind account to 33.4% and 24.1% in Oct .

 Concentration of rainfall in Oct,and Dec.

The high wind Concentrate in Oct and Nov.

Project2---Initial analysis (Plant)

Second project site  in Winchester,in a conservation area,so I analysis plant in this area at first.

Many kinds of plant spread in this area,especially Yews and Beech spread in most space.

Yew: evergreen trees  and slow growth.
     dark green and dense.
     used for formal hedges and topiary.
Beech:large trees that may exceed 35 m in height and 1.5 m in diameter.
      Deciduous ornamental plants.
Holly: evergreen trees
       arbor/ arbet
       height:2-25m
       full shade to full sun
Sycamore: large deciduous trees
Hazel:  large of deciduous trees
Conifer: evergreen trees
         include cedars, Douglas-firs,Cypresses, firs, junipers, kauai,                    larches,pines,hemlocks,redwoods,spruces,and yews.
